ABOUT ME

Rosanne Calbo-Jackson

I attended UC Berkeley, after having spent my childhood in upstate New York, and my young years in the Bronx. After graduation from Cal (GO BEARS!), I worked as legal secretary for a corporate attorney and then attended Golden Gate University School of Law, graduating in Fall 1993. I have been a family law practitioner since 1994, first working for a busy family law firm, then opening my own firm in 1995.

During law school, I worked for Legal Aid for battered women, helping them obtain divorces. I also was an extern in the San Francisco Superior Court, Family Law Department for two judges and worked for the Department of Justice for a semester. I also worked for a couple of solo practitioners in Oakland, gathering practical family law experience. The experience I garnered in law school led me to family law exclusively and 100% of my practice pertains to family law. I was certified as a Family Law Specialist in 2007, having passed the specialist exam and peer and background review. The certification process was extensive, and requires that I keep up with family law continuing legal education. In addition, I was recently nominated as a Northern California Super Lawyer, an honor bestowed on only 5% of California attorneys.

I have been married for more than 27 years and have two wonderful sons. As a working mom, I understand the some of the issues affecting working parents and look for practical solutions to help clients and families going through litigation. I treat every case differently and believe everyone has his or her own unique story to tell. I pride myself on really listening to my clients and giving them the individual attention their cases deserve.
